Android 15 top new features Google beta
Asus Ad

So Android 15 — aka Android Vanilla Ice Cream — is here. Sort of. The stable public release of Android 15 will most probably start rolling out from September 2024, but I’ve been testing the beta version of Android 15 on my Pixel 8 for about a week to find out exactly what’s new and what’s improved.

Android 15 release schedule
Android 15 release schedule (Image: Google)

I guess it probably goes without saying that Google hasn’t bothered with any major visual changes but you know what? I’ve found 7 amazing features that you’re gonna absolutely love on Android 15. And if you stick around till the end, I’ll share a bunch of bonus features that you’ll love even more! Let’s go.

Android 15 features

1. Private Space

Okay at number 1 is something called “Private Space”. It’s basically this separate, hidden space where you can store all your private, sensitive apps so that they don’t show up in the app drawer. And also the recent menu, notifications, and settings once you lock it up.

What I find especially interesting is that it’s actually a separate user profile on its own. Which means I can use a different Google account for all my apps in the private space and even have two versions of the same app at once.

Android 15 - Private Space

I really like how it lets me set a separate authentication style — like fingerprint, pin, pattern — to access the private space too. So even though someone may have figured out my phone’s password, I can rest assured that they won’t be able to access my hidden apps at least.

Now I know what you’re thinking. This isn’t a new idea… at all. There are literally dozens of apps on the Play Store that can keep your sensitive apps locked in, while every major smartphone brands like SamsungOnePlus, and Xiaomi have a similar feature built into their phones as well. Having said that, I definitely appreciate how Google is building such a useful, privacy-focused feature into Android by default.

2. Partial screen recording

On that note, screen recording is getting a lot more private on Android 15 too. You know how when you’re trying to screen record something, you get a notification from some other app? Or you accidentally switch to a different app that you don’t want in the recording? So now you gotta edit those part out or do the whole thing again?

Well, Android 15 has a genius solution for this. Instead of recording the entire screen, you can now choose to record what happens inside one app only.

Android 15 - Partial screen recording

So when I select screen recording on Android 15, there’s a new option called “a single app”. And once I hit “start recording” and choose the app I want — it doesn’t matter if I jump to another window or get a sudden pop-up from another app — it will only record what happened in the app I selected. That’s it.

3. App pairs

Google is also pushing for easier multitasking on Android 15 with app pairs. And if you’re someone who’s constantly working with two apps in split screen mode, then this is probably the most exciting feature you should look forward to. So instead of separately opening those apps that you use side by side every single time, there’s now an option to save them as a “pair” for much quicker access. Just tap the app pair shortcut and voilà!

Android 15 - App pairs

Although… like “Private Space”, this one’s nothing new either. I’ve been launching YouTube and Notes with one click on my Samsung phone for as long as I can remember. The way Google has implemented this on Android 15 feels a little undercooked as well since there is no way to switch the app layout like on One UI. Maybe that will change with the final release of Android 15, but let’s see.

4. App archiving

Alright. The next Android 15 feature I wanna talk about is kind of a personal favorite of mine. It’s called “app archiving” and it lets me uninstall an app to save some storage space, while still keeping some of my user data. So… when I reinstall it afterward, it’s like I never got rid of it in the first place. And yeah, it’s exactly like the option to “offload” an app in iOS.

Android 15 - App archiving

I’m gonna archive Instagram and as you can see, it’s taking up 507MB of storage right now. But once I archive it, that number goes down to just 139MB. And when I need to check my Insta feed later on, I can simply restore the app without ever having to sign in again.

5. Notification cooldown

Moving on, “notification cooldown” is another new feature on Android 15 that I can’t wait for you guys to try out! Especially if you have that one friend who keeps your phone ringing and buzzing with constant notifications in the group chat. Or that one app that spams you with notifications the second you’re connected to the internet.

And you can probably imagine how horrifying this is to someone like me who carries at least a couple of phones at any given time. But thanks to Android 15, I can finally enjoy some peace and quiet by enabling notification cooldown.

Android 15 - Notification cooldown
Image: Android Authority

What it does is gradually lower the volume of all the successive notifications from the same app, and I can either apply this to every type of notification or just for those noisy group texts.

I wish I had even more precise control on specific apps to put into cooldown but let me once again remind you that I’m running a beta version of Android 15 at the moment. So Google has plenty of time to make some changes for the stable version.

6. Audio sharing

Anyway, have you guys heard of Auracast?

It’s this new Bluetooth LE Audio feature that lets you broadcast audio from your smartphones and laptops to multiple devices at once. Unlike how traditional Bluetooth connection can only stream to one device at a time. Samsung was actually the first to bring Auracast support with One UI 6.1, whereas Google wants you to be able to share your phone’s audio or join others’ broadcasts much more easily on Android 15.

Android 15 - Audio sharing
Image: Android Authority

Say I’m somewhere crowded and want to watch the latest episode of One Piece with my buddies. With Android 15, I can start sharing audio from my phone while my friends join in with their wireless earbuds. And the beauty of Auracast is that my friends don’t need to go through the hassle of manually pairing their earbuds to my phone as well.

7. Theft detection lock

Okay. I saved the best Android 15 feature for last because this one can potentially keep your phone’s data safe in case it’s stolen. Google calls it “Theft Detection Lock” and listen to this: it uses data from sensors like accelerometer and gyroscope to figure out if your phone has been snatched away. And with a little help from AI, it will quickly lock the device to prevent thieves from accessing your phone.

Android 15 - Theft detection lock
Image: Google

That’s not all. There’s also this new feature that will automatically lock the phone if the thief puts your device offline, while Google now lets you remotely lock your phone with the help of your phone number and security question too.

But the best part is that all of these are coming to older phones too, running Android 10 or later. Yay! Except for factory reset protection, which prevents the thief from resetting the stolen phone without your Google account credentials.

That’s gonna be exclusive to Android 15.

Android 15 features: What else?

Alright, so those were the 7 incredible new features I found on Android 15. And as promised, I’ll now go through a bunch of other changes and upgrades you can expect from Google’s next major Android release. It’s gonna be rapid-fire so… brace yourself.

So I know I said there aren’t any major visual changes this time but Google has made a couple of refreshes to the UI here and there.

  • For example, the volume panel has been completely redesigned with big, bubbly controls that look a lot nicer.
  • The Bluetooth tile now opens a pop-up menu on a single press instead of just turning on/off.
  • And if you dig a little deeper inside the settings, you’ll find that Android 15 now has the option to automatically turn on Bluetooth the next day. Just like on iOS.
  • Google is finally bringing “predictive back” gestures into Android as well, which gives this nice preview of where you’re returning to.
    • This feature was already there in Android 14 — buried deep inside developer options — but it’s now going to be enabled by default on Android 15.
  • Android 15 can also stop you from making calls and messages in an unencrypted network to prevent data theft and surveillance.
  • Then there’s the new “High Quality” mode when using your phone as a USB webcam. Although I should warn you that enabling it could mean the phone gets hotter and loses battery more quickly.
  • Whereas Android 15 has a ton of under-the-hood optimizations like better standby battery life and a built-in AV1 decoder for an even better user experience.

How to download and install Android 15 beta?

So yeah, with Android 15, it’s clear that Google was mainly focused on productivity, security, and stability side of things more than anything else. And if you can’t wait for the final release, you can actually install the Android 15 beta right away if you have one of these phones.

You can download the Android 15 beta build for these phones from Android Developer’s website. The actual installation method is different for every brand — which you can find from the same link — so I won’t be diving deep into that here. Although I won’t running beta software on your daily driver since… well… it’s beta software. But if you wanna try it out on your secondary phone, why not?

Honor Play10 4G Price in Nepal

Honor just dropped the Play10 in Nepal, and it’s Honor’s most affordable phone in the country right now. Although given its price, this budget phone has pretty generous specs. So in this article, I will be going through everything you need to know about the new Honor Play10 (aka Honor Play 10), including its official price in Nepal.

Honor Play10 4G Overview:

Display and Design

The Honor Play10 has a 6.74-inch LCD panel with an HD (1600 x 720 px) resolution. It’s got a teardrop notch to house the front and pretty thick bezels at the bottom. At 167.7 x 77.7 x 8.55 mm and 189 grams, the Honor Play10 isn’t exactly tiny, but it’s manageable.

The Play10’s “Starry Purple” color option didn’t make its way to Nepal, but it’s available in Ocean Cyan and Midnight Black finishes. Other than this, Honor’s super-affordable budget phone also gets an official IP52 rating, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, and 4G LTE connectivity.

Performance and software

Inside, there’s a MediaTek Helio G81 (12nm) chipset with up to 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. Its storage is available up to a terabyte using a microSD card as well, although the Play10 is available in a 3/64GB configuration only in Nepal.

We’ve also seen that MediaTek chip in a couple dozen phones at this point, and we can already tell you that the Honor Play10 should handle basic social media usage and video playback. But nothing beyond that. It runs on Android Go (most likely the Go Edition of Android 15), and we’re not expecting much in terms of software updates either.

Camera and battery

A 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera handle the photography and video call side of things on the Honor Play10. It’s powered by a decent 5,000 mAh battery that supports 10W charging, which should last you around two days under normal use.

Honor has been aggressively pushing silicon-carbon battery tech on most of its phones, so we’re a little surprised that the Play10 is still using a traditional Lithium-Polymer battery. Maybe Si-Ca batteries don’t make economic sense on ultra-affordable phones for now.

Honor Play10 Specifications:

  • Design, build: 167.7 x 77.7 x 8.55 mm, 189 gm, IP52 rating
  • Display: 6.74-inch TFT screen, HD+, 90Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: Mediatek Helio G81 (12nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 3/4GB RAM, 64/128GB storage (expandable up to 1TB via microSD card)
  • Software & UI: Android Go
  • Rear Camera: Single (13MP main)
  • Front Camera: 5MP sensor (teardrop notch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Galileo / BeiDou, USB-C, 4G LTE
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Proximity, Light, Magnetometer

Honor X7d Price in Nepal 2025

Honor just dropped the X7d 4G in Nepal. It’s the follow-up to last year’s Honor X7c, and it now comes with a massive 6,500 mAh battery, among other stuff. That said, its pricing feels rather ridiculous considering everything this phone has to offer. Anyway, let’s dive into this article, where I will discuss everything about the latest Honor X7d, including its official price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

Honor X7d Overview

Display and Design

Honor X7d Design and Display

You’re getting a 6.77-inch LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate on the Honor X7d, which is the same as its predecessor. The resolution is still 720p+, too, although it should be fine for basic usage. The phone comes in four colors: Desert Gold, Ocean Cyan, Meteor Silver, and Velvet Black.

Durability focus

One of the biggest upgrades on the X7d is its enhanced durability since Honor says this guy can survive 2-meter drops! It has even received a 5-star SGS drop and crush resistance certification. The Honor X7d also bumps to IP65 certification, so it’s protected from dust and water splashes.

All things considered, Honor seems to be positioning this as a phone for people who value robustness and durability above all else.

Performance and Memory

At its core is the Snapdragon 685 (6nm), which is honestly a nearly three-year-old processor. Obviously, it’s not that great of a chip, as I know this for a fact because I was once using Redmi Note 12 4G a couple of years back. And compared to other phones in its price range, the X7d is severely underpowered.

The only good news here is that Honor has been pretty generous in terms of memory configuration. Since it comes with 8GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. The X7d runs on Android 15-based MagicOS 9, while Honor hasn’t committed to any number of software updates for this phone.

Camera and Battery

And like most other things, the Honor X7d sees no camera improvement either. It’s still rocking the same dual camera setup at the back that includes a 108MP f/1.75 main sensor and a 2MP f/2.4 depth camera. While you get an 8MP f/2.0 front camera for selfies and video calls.

Honor X7d with IP65 rating

But the biggest highlight of this budget phone is definitely its gigantic 6,500 mAh battery. So pair that with a 720p screen and a mid-tier chip, it should easily give 2–3 days of battery life for most users. It supports 35W SuperCharge, which isn’t class-leading but should get you topped up reasonably fast.

Honor X7d Specifications:

  • Design, build: 166.89 x 76.8 x 8.24 mm, 208 gm, IP65 rating
  • Display: 6.77-inch TFT LCD screen, HD+, 120Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 4G (6nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 8GB RAM, 256/512GB storage (not expandable)
  • Software & UI: MagicOS 9.0 on top of Android 15
  • Rear Camera: Dual (108MP main, 2MP depth)
  • Front Camera: 8MP sensor (hole-punch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Galileo / BeiDou, USB-C, NFC, 4G LTE
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, Compass, Gravity, Proximity
  • Battery: 6500 mAh with 35W charging (35W power adapter provided)

Honor X7d Price in Nepal and Availability

The official price of Honor X7d in Nepal is NPR 26,999 and NPR 30,999 for the 8/256GB and 8/512GB variants, respectively. And those who buy it between October 14 – October 21 will also get Honor Choice Earbuds X7e Active worth NPR 4,000 for free. Yet, the Honor X7d still feels quite a bit overpriced in Nepal, considering a bunch of other phones you can get under NPR 30,000.

iPhone 15 Price in Nepal
Asus Ad

If you are looking for an affordable non-Pro iPhone, the iPhone 15 is probably the way to go for most folks. Even though iPhone 17 is already available in Nepal. So in this article, let’s walk through the specs, features, and the latest official price in Nepal of the iPhone 15.

iPhone 15 Overview:

Design and Display

The iPhone 15 shares an identical visual to the iPhone 14. While the titanium frame is reserved for the Pro/Pro Max siblings, the aerospace-grade aluminum frame is still a sturdy thing on the vanilla iPhone 15.

Besides this, its rear panel is polished with nanocrystalline particles for a textured matte finish. Likewise, you get an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water drips. Apple ships this guy in five color options: Black, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Pink.

iPhone 15 Design and Display

Getting to the display, it’s the same panel as the iPhone 14 Pro at 6.1 inches in size. This Super Retina XDR screen bears an FHD+ resolution (2556 x 1179 pixels), HDR10, Dolby Vision, 2,000 nits of peak brightness, and Ceramic Shield glass protection.

Sadly, the refresh rate has stayed the same at 60Hz to bridge the gap with the Pro siblings. What’s new this time is the arrival of Dynamic Island, Apple’s “innovative” way of making the best out of a notch, introduced in the iPhone 14 Pro Series. And this finally marks the end of the gigantic notch.

A16 Bionic

Running the show on the core of the iPhone 15 is Apple’s last year chipset, the A16 Bionic. To recall, Apple brought the culture of using last-gen chips on the vanilla and Plus models from the iPhone 14 series. While it’s not as powerful as the latest A17 Pro SoC on the iPhone 15 Pro lineup, the A16 Bionic still packs a load of punch.

This 4nm-fabbed chip features a hexa-core architecture with two Everest cores at 3.46GHz and four Sawtooth cores at 2.0GHz clock speeds. Handling the graphics tasks and gaming is the 5-core GPU from Apple.

A16 Bionic Chip

As for the software, the iPhone 15 boots on the latest iOS 17. This iteration brings a bunch of improvements and customization options such as customized caller ID, message transcription, Namedrop (sharing contact through Airdrop), StandBy Mode, and such.

  • Also, check out all the prices and full specs of iPhones.

Camera

Getting to the optics, Apple still lays a dual camera setup on this vanilla model. However, the primary shooter gets a resolution bump this time, with a 48MP sensor. This quad-pixel camera brings 100% Focus Pixels for swift autofocus.

What’s more interesting is the 24MP super-high-res mode which is set by default. Apple claims superb image quality at a practical file size with this mode. To address the lack of a zoom unit here, this vanilla model offers a 2X telephoto option as well.

iPhone 15 Camera

Moving to the front, you get a 12MP TrueDepth camera engraved on the Dynamic Island which also doubles as a 3D face scanner for biometrics security.

USB-C and others

With the EU mandating a USB-C port in different consumer electronic goods in its region, Apple has finally abandoned its Lightning port on the entire iPhone 15 series.

Unfortunately, the vanilla model equips an older, slower USB 2.0 port while the Pro siblings enjoy a faster USB 3.0 connection. You still get reverse charging via a USB-C to USB-C cable to charge your new updated AirPods Pro and Apple Watch.

iPhone 15 Reverse Wired Charging

As usual, Apple hasn’t mentioned the actual battery size of its latest iPhones, but unofficial third-party teardowns should reveal that info shortly. Anyway, there’s no upgrade in the charging department since the iPhone 15’s wired and wireless charging speed is still capped at 20W and 15W (via MagSafe), respectively.

Whereas the phone still retains satellite connectivity, crash detection, and emergency SOS features. Apple has also introduced “Roadside Assistance” this time, which uses satellite connection for calling in help for vehicles in deserted spots with no cellular connectivity.

iPhone 15 Specifications:

  • Dimension: 147.6 x 71.6 x 7.8mm, 171 grams
  • Display: 6.1‑inch OLED, Super Retina XDR, 60Hz refresh rate
  • Resolution: 2556 x 1179 pixels, 460 ppi
